Reason number 273 why people need cognitive behavioral therapy...

I saw this this morning when a friend posted it.  I almost started to chuckle, but then I stopped myself.

I CAN remember the first time I thought that I was fat.

I was in 1st grade.

1st grade people.

I was late to school because I didn’t want to go to school.  I was upset and told my parents that I looked fat in my outfit.  I can still remember what I was wearing.  Green pants and a green turtleneck.  I thought that my stomach looked huge.  My parents were so worried that they called the school counselor and told her what happened.  I was called into her office.  I was so mad at my parents because I felt that they were making a bigger deal out of it than it needed to be.  The counselor was a nice lady, and I remember her asking me why I thought that I was fat.

I have no idea what I said to her.

Basted in blood...

I know that I already posted this on my facebook, but I have been looking for this link on the internet this time of year for years.  Did that make sense?  Because it did in my head.  Enjoy:

What I miss the most...

So a couple of weeks ago I moved back to Georgia from Texas.

I didn't realize that I would miss it so much.

The move was not planned, so I guess that I didn't really have time to prepare myself mentally for it anyway.

BUT, the whole point of this post is that I miss my babies terribly!  I do NOT miss the diapers, being woken up in the morning at the crack of dawn, or never having a moment to myself (not even in the bathroom).

I DO miss:
~The loves and cuddles.
~Being told multiple times a day that I am loved.
~Sharing a room with Kizzie and having her talk to me until I fall asleep at night.  (Sometimes she would keep talking even after I fell asleep.)
~Being able to talk to my sister all the time.
~Bruce, the dog.
~I was even missing them at church yesterday and wishing that I was at church with them!  How crazy is that?!  I used to hate going to church with them since I never heard what was going on during all of Sacrament Meeting.
~Being around them and part of their everyday lives and the little things that they would say and do that were so hilarious.

Hopefully one of these days I will be able to visit them.
Until then I will use Skype.

Don't Mess With Texas!

So, I moved to Texas at the end of last week.  Kinda crazy.  And as-per-usual, I meant to blog about the whole move before now.  But this is about all that I can remember at this point.  Sorry if I leave out anything too interesting, but I doubt it.  It was pretty boring once we got going.

I was supposed to leave on the Friday afternoon before Easter.
Guess when I actually left?
Friday...
 @ 9:00 pm.
Yeah.  It was that kind of day.

I was supposed to get the littlest U-haul trailer Friday morning, but every time I called the place that I was designated to pick up the trailer from NO ONE ever answered.  And there was no voice mail set up either.  I even went down to the place itself and is was soooo ghetto and pretty much abandoned.  I called U-haul and they gave me another place to pick up the trailer.  At that point I only could go there and talk to the person to make sure that I had all of the appropriate materials to tow the trailer with my Dad's truck.  I didn't have enough time to actually pick up the trailer since I had a doctors appointment at 1:00 pm.  I ran by the U-haul place long enough for me to find out that we did NOT have all of the pieces for the correct hitch.
Poop.
I went to the doctors appointment.  (Where the doctor was over an hour behind. As per usual.)  And then I came straight home.  Now I had NO trailer and I had NOT even packed my clothes yet.  What can I say?  I am a complete procrastinator.

During my doctors appointment, somehow, my Grandpa found out about all that was happening with the U-haul and stuff.  And in the sweetest, most humble way, my Grandpa offered to pay for the smallest U-haul Truck instead of me paying for all of the issues with the hitch on my dad's truck.
So Dad and I made it to the U-haul place and after a very long saga, that one day I might blog about, a nice woman finally let us have the U-haul truck.  Dad and I went home to pack what I had packed into the U-haul while I finished packing all of my other things.
Just a couple of highlights from that part...
~It was raining. (Joy)
~My mom was waiting on us to pick her up from work and she kept calling every 15 minutes to check our status. (I kinda went off on her.  Sorry Mom)
~I was so far behind on my packing it was ridiculous.  (Which was my own fault.)

After we finally loaded up the moving truck and picked up Mom in the moving van it literally was 9:00 pm and raining pretty badly.  Mom and Dad were in the moving van while Bruce (my bro-in-law's dog we were returning) and I were in my car.

We were finally on the road!

(to be continued...)

Pass the denture bond!

A week ago today I had two molars pulled.  They were in pretty bad shape and couldn't really be saved.  Anyway, I feel like the poor unfortunate souls from The Little Mermaid.  I am just gummy smile, at least in the back part of my mouth.  Just wanted to add a little update on my life.  Nothing too shocking or interesting.  Man, I need to get a more exciting life! ;)

Fat guy in a little coat.

You only need to watch this link for the first minute.  The rest does not pertain to me.
I feel like J.D. every time I wear these two shirts together.  The bottom one is high enough, but too short.  The top one is too low cut and long enough.  Together they work.  Separate I look like J.D.
Enjoy:

Can I get an Amen?!

(after the first 2 minutes it gets pretty boring and repetitive)

I felt that I needed a little M.C. Hammer today.  I turned in an application for a job that I hope will work out, and I miss my sister even though she was here 2 weeks ago.  I feel like I didn't even get to see her very much since I still had to work.  :(  But I just need to remember the profound words of M.C. Hammer, "You got to pray. You got to pray just to make it today."

Behold the power of google...

I normally hate stupid things like these captioned pictures.  However I am trying my best to NOT go back to sleep today.  Why is my bed so comfortable?!  Now I am going to be extremely productive and try to get my e-mail inbox under 10,000 messages.  I know.  That is
re-donk-u-lous!

Lily

P.S. Why are dads sooooooo hard to shop for?!

P.P.S. My favorite one is of the baby with the cake.  That will probably be my child one day.  Who am I kidding?!  I will cut you if you touch my cake!

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

cannot believe that it has been almost a year since my last post.  I was so sincere in my resolution to be a better blogger this year.  Oh well.  Maybe I can make a "re-resolution?"

And here is a link to a cover of a song that has been in my head for days:
Maybe I can learn how to beat-box while playing my cello?!
It could happen!

That's all I am going to say about that.

28 O that cunning aplan of the evil one! O the bvainness, and the frailties, and the cfoolishness of men! When they are dlearned they think they are ewise, and they fhearken not unto the gcounsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their hwisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish.
29 But to be alearned is good if they bhearken unto the ccounsels of God.

2 Nephi 9:28-29

Please help me with this:

Here is a link to a video about one of my dear friends Jocelyn.  I would be so appreciative if you could do something to help me help her.  Pray for her family as well as her.  And if at all possible please donate to the fund for her medical bills and fun money to do things she has always wanted to do.  Thank you in advance for helping out.

I'm still alive and kicking, I promise!

So this year I had planned on being more attentive to my neglected blog.  But life doesn't always turn out the way we plan.  For reals.  I've been in a kinda funk for like a couple of months now.  Springs are not always so good for me.  BUT I am on Day 2 of operation: Do Something...Anything.  I have been wasting my time in the past sleeping-in until it was time to go to get ready for work.  Skipping my meds. (Mom please don't kill me.  I am taking them faithfully now.  I promise.  Seriously.)  And work has felt like such a chore lately.  I've just been feeling kinda stuck.  I know that this has a lot to do with the fact that for various reasons, I haven't gone to church in like a month.  I know, I know.  I'm a sinner.  But the whole point of this is that I saying that I am starting to feel more like myself now and it has only been a couple of days.  Amazing how that works when you actually get out of bed.  Even though my bed is soooooooooo comfortable with my eqyptian cotton sheets.  Today I realized that I missed/forgot how much I loved blog-stalking.  I also realized that I am usually a mid-morning person.  NOT a morning person, or a night person, but a mid-morning person.  I am not sure if that actually exists, but I don't care.  It does now.  Unfortunately I missed a lot of things during my "hybernation."  In my life and in the lives of others.  Like I missed National Donut Day!  How could I miss this?!  All I can think about is a krispy kreme donut, and Homer Simpson saying, "Donut."  Maybe I will make up for missing it by eating 2 donuts today.  :)  I am going to leave y'all with a picture of my favorite nephew.  It totally made my day!  And I would never have seen it until I finally checked out my bro-in-law's facebook page.

P.S.  A shout out to my bro-in-law, who probably will never read this, but way to go on being Mr. Mom for three whole weeks while Giuli takes some grad school classes in Phoenix.

P.P.S.  Thanks Dad, who will also probably never read this, but thanks for making me taking Keyboarding in high school when I wanted to take a fluff class like office aide for something.  Just wanted to say that for some reason.

P.P.P.S.  If there are any typos in this post do not blame it on my former keyboarding teacher.  She did her best with what she had.

Love to all,
Lily

The Price is Wrong

Who knew that it would be so hard to spend a gift card from itunes?! I thought that this was going to be easy, but apparentally not. My bestie got me a itunes gift card for my birthday/Christmas and I am finding it sooooooooooooooo difficult to choose just a couple of songs. I love itunes and all of the lovely music on there. My head is spinning with all of the options.

Any suggestions y'all?

I am all ears for some good music recommendations.

Let's make some lemonade!

So it is funny how things eventually work out in life. I sat in the airport for almost an entire day today, praying that I would make it on a flight home. And now I am sitting in a comfy first class seat having just watched a movie I was dying to see. Now I am listening to Adele while writing to my peeps on my long neglected blog. Is it bad if I realize that I am an extremely lucky/spoiled person?! Cause I think that I am. This whole trip ended on a completely different day than originally planned. I was going to come home on Saturday evening, but I woke up Saturday morning early with some gastrointestinal distress. Then it quickly morphed into vomiting. Yeah for me. Sorry if too much info. But anyway, I had the chills and a fever and there was no way that I was going to be able to leave my bed let alone travel across the country. I had already paid the $40 to ride the shuttle, so I was totally out of luck getting that non-refundable money back. But what is $40 when you think that you are going to die? Do you feel sorry for me yet? All of Saturday and part of Sunday were a complete blur, mostly because I was asleep for the majority of it. But after eating nothing but powerade and ginger ale for 36 hours, I figured that I could try to come home. Especially since no one else could cover for me at work past Monday. So we get to the long day at the airport and then the all of the spoiling that I got on the airplane. Hopefully my dad AND my luggage with both be there when I get off the plane so I can get home and kiss my puppies and sleep in my own bed!

Lily

P.S. My luggage was NOT there and it was lost with no id tag on it. I should have listened to The Spirit when it told me to make sure my address was on ALL of my belongings. However Heavenly Father was looking out for me and I had a bag inside of it that had my name on it. I got my bag back with all of my stuff in it AND I got back the tube with the picture of my sister and Kizzie that Jack drew with charcoal that I lost in the lost baggage counter. Ironic, no?

Here is a little teaser of my trip to Arizona...
